Website enhancement with upgrade of directory of members and corporate profiles
Our website provides a significant vehicle through which to communicate and promote the chamber and its membership. In an era of heightened electronic technology application it is imperative that we maximize our effective and efficient use of this highly valuable resource. As an attempt to get members more involved and engaged in transacting business within the chamber our website directory will provide greater business showcasing capability. By means of regular profiling of selected enterprises we will seek to provide the stimulus for increased member sales and the potential to activate greater marketing reach beyond the chamber.
Focus on delivering outcomes tested by "what benefit will it deliver to our members' businesses"
We are committed to representing the interests of members and as a commercial discipline we will be applying this test to all decision making relative to activities and projects under management. Such a focus is essential to our goal of energizing current members and of gaining new members to assist the growth and stability of the chamber.
Regular program of monthly meetings incorporating "member business profile" segments
Our goal is to provide members with a framework within which they can showcase their businesses identifying their location and services and products as well as to be able to flag promotions, special offers and discounts via free website promotion and by personally profiling their enterprises to members and guests at regular chamber meetings. We also see the need to ensure regular communication between members, the committee and the community and to facilitate networking and business 2 business opportunities.
Media campaign to be revitalised and to highlight current projects and member business profiles
As well as undertaking leadership and strong advocacy the chamber needs to be pro-active in projecting information about its activities and to generate public awareness. Media related promotional strategies to increase the strength and influence of the chamber and to gain recognition of the commitment and role of members within the local economy will be pursued.
Strategic relationship with IACC to deliver relevant and beneficial business workshops and seminars
The alliance enjoyed with the Illawarra Area Consultative Committee provides members with tangible benefits across a wide range of training seminars, workshops and information sources. Opportunities to extend this valuable resource to members will be actively canvassed.
Corrimal Revitalisation Strategy - development of a significant contribution to Council on behalf of members
As one of our three main objectives for the year, we are devoting our attention and efforts towards providing Council with ideas and concepts that will assist the planning of infrastructure and ultimately develop a framework that will give members and potential investors greater confidence to adopt positive growth strategies for the benefit of greater Corrimal. We will continue to be actively involved in leading and encouraging community and stakeholder consultation and debate on this study and its outcomes.
Investigation of projects that will drive growth opportunities for members as part of the local economy
Strategies to reduce outflows of commercial spending from the Corrimal District Centre are actively being explored. Consistent with our focus on delivering worthwhile and beneficial outcomes for members we need to be continually proactive and to initiate projects that will assist to drive economic advantages for members and at the same time be beneficial to the local economy as a whole.
Development of an appropriately resourced social/community support program
It is incumbent upon us to strive to understand and appreciate community needs. Whilst our priority is clearly to the interests of our members it is important that a degree of balance is applied with due recognition of our broader social obligations. A responsible community minded attitude will be applied particularly with consideration of worthwhile socially orientated projects such as the support extended to the Corrimal Men’s Shed project and the substantial contribution afforded the local Junior Life Saving Clubs.
